The new helmet cap is designed to allow treatment of more inferior lesions than the previous one. This is accomplished by a design that follows the outer helmet radius rather than the inner radius. The cap is secured to the radiation helmet by magnets which simplifies mounting and removal. It is compatible with all previous designs of Leksell Gamma Knife® models B and B2 as well as the new Leksell Gamma Knife® C.
