The Bipolar Brain Lesion Electrodes Kit consists of bipolar electrodes in two different tip diameters and tip lengths. Impedance monitoring, stimulation and RF-lesioning are performed with the same electrode.
The Bipolar Brain Lesion Electrodes are part of Leksell Stereotactic System® and are used with Leksell® Neuro Generator in minimally invasive brain surgery procedures. Precise positioning of the electrode is achived by use of the stereotactic arc.
The tip has an active pole from which current flows to the neutral pole, which is located distal to the tip. Stimulation current flows from the active pole of the electrode to a neutral plate on the patient's body. When the electrode is correctly fitted the center of the insulating section between the two poles is always located at the center of the target.
The electrodes have integrated thermocouple controlled sensors, to accurately control temperature. All electrodes are autoclavable.
All electrodes can be ordered separately.
The electrodes are manufactured by inomed (920072).
